My name Maria, English was my favorite subject since I was in elementary days. I remember borrowing pocketbooks and other English books from a classmate and would read them like there was no tomorrow. I would read out aloud, usually in front of the mirror making sure that I pronounced the words correctly. I majored in Journalism and made a plan to write an English inspirational book. My plan is still a dream until now. Instead of using my degree, I was thrown to the call center world. Every day, I interacted with international mostly American customers. I continued reading English books and I became fond of watching English films. I still have not perfected English, I admit that I still have lapses, I sometimes mispronounce words and am guilty of wrong grammar but I can proudly say that I speak the language fluently and with confidence. I think these experiences will help me in teaching Japanese students effectively and I am also hoping that I'll be able to help hone their English skills to the best of my ability.
