I recently shifted to teaching after working for 13 years in Corporate Communications/Public Relations/Marketing. I felt I was not fulfilled working in the corporate world. I thought I could have better purpose in this world if I teach. Teaching, for me, has better impact. I get to be part of a person's learning. I believe, in teaching, I have a more fulfilling purpose. In 2005, I decided to take up Professional Education. Eventually, I got my license to teach here in the Philippines. I furthered my education by taking up courses in Teaching Special Education. After getting my diploma in Special Education, I resigned from my office job and worked as an elementary school teacher. My 13 years of experience working in the corporate world was not put to waste. I have become a capable and qualified teacher because of the wide experience I have. Presently, I am teaching children with special needs while I teach English to a Japanese executive. I have discovered that teaching English is enjoyable and interesting. I get to learn about the Japanese culture while I help my student improve his English language skills. You can say I am enjoying both worlds -- I enjoy and learn while I teach and earn!
