Hong Kong Disneyland opened its first Frozen-themed attraction. Thousands of eager visitors came to experience the new rides. The new park attraction is based on Disney’s “Frozen” animation film. It features landscapes and characters from the movie. There are also two new rides. Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Experiences, said this expansion represents the largest and boldest move for Hong Kong Disneyland since its opening in 2005.

The new attraction is part of Disney’s $60 billion (about ¥8.9 trillion) expansion of its parks and cruises. This attraction is important because the theme park has been losing money for years. Disney fan, Bryan Darmanic and his family were among the first to ride the Frozen-themed roller coaster. They received limited edition souvenirs to remember the experience.

Hong Kong has been working on improving the park to attract more visitors. In 2022, it introduced Momentus multimedia and a fireworks show at the castle. Other Disney parks also have expansion plans as well. Shanghai Disneyland has a Zootopia-themed area this month. Tokyo DisneySea has Fantasy Springs. Disneyland Paris has a Frozen-themed Kingdom of Arendelle. Both are to open in either 2024 or 2025.
