SPEAKING

Saori and Catherine are going to Victoria Peak, a famous tourist spot in Hong Kong.

Saori:

I’m so excited to go to Victoria Peak!

Catherine:

Oh, you’ll love it! Let’s check in at the hotel and then go!

Saori:

Okay! How long does it take to check in?

Catherine:

Not long. Maybe ten or fifteen minutes. Then we can take the limousine from the hotel to the tram station.

Saori:

Is the tram station close? How long does it take to get to it?

Catherine:

Well, it’s a little far from our hotel. It takes about an hour. If you want, you can take a nap in the limousine.

Saori:

Okay. I’m a little sleepy. By the way, how long does it take to go to the top of Victoria Peak?

Catherine:

By tram, it takes only seven minutes.

TRIVIA

You can use exactly or about to talk about time. Use exactly to give a precise time and about to give an approximate time.

 

O It takes exactly 10 minutes. (no more, no less)

O It takes about 10 minutes. (maybe 9 minutes, maybe 11 minutes)
