Goal

I can use superlatives with other forms.

Grammar Point

Read the grammar point with your tutor.

Use superlative forms other than the + [superlative adjective/adverb] to explain that one person or thing in a group has more of a quality than the rest.

  • Use the form the + [ordinal number] + [superlative adjective/adverb]* to rank people or things in a group.

  • Use the form [possessive] + [superlative adjective] + [singular noun] to be more specific.

  • You can use ordinal numbers with this form as well.

  • Use the form one of the + [superlative adjective] + [plural noun] to explain that a person or thing is in the top tier but may not be number one.

  • You can use possessives with this form as well.
