Goal

I can use superlatives with the most/-est.

Grammar Point

Read the grammar point with your tutor.

Use superlatives to explain that one person or thing in a group has more of a quality than the rest.

  • With adjectives, the most common form is the + [superlative adjective]. To make a superlative adjective, add -est or -st to most regular one-syllable adjectives.*

*for adjectives that end in [vowel] + [consonant] (not w, x, or y), double the last consonant and add –est
