Goal

I can use simple past wh- questions.

Grammar Point

Use simple past wh- questions to ask open questions* about the past.

*open questions require more information than a simple yes/no answer

  • To ask about the subject of a sentence, add the wh- word before the verb.

  • To ask about the object of a do-verb sentence, add the wh- word and did before the subject. Remember to change the original verb to its dictionary form.
